swelling behind toes

(2 discussions)

I have swelling between the second & third and third & fourth toes in both feet. I had an EMG that came back normal. I’m not diabetic. But the bottoms of my toes are numb, and I occasionally get shooting pains in my big toes. My Podiatrist thinks it is Morton’s Neuroma. I have a high arch in my feet and palpating the two swellings doesn’t really illicit any pain. Any suggestions?

Is there any family history of neurological diseases such as Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease or Friedrich’s ataxia? A high arch foot can sometimes suggest neurological problems. Has your podiatrist suggested tarsal tunnel syndrome?
