swollen ankle

(2 discussions)

I am in a cam walker for a avulsion fracture to the accessory navicular on my right ankle but, now my left ankle becomes swollen and painful after walking 1/2 hr it sometimes swell while I’m sitting. Could this be cause by the extra stress being put on my left leg because of the cam walker on my right leg. I am also experiencing the same stinging and buring on the inner ankle of my left leg I felt before the the fracture to my right ankle.
Should I be wearing some kind of a supporting ankle brace on my left leg until I am out of the cam walker?

The x-rays for the left ankle were negative.

you should check with the doctor who treated you and see if a comparision x-ray was taken of the left foot. Until you get an appointment, you might consider using crutches to off load weight.
