Swollen Knee

A few days ago my left knee became rather swollen. It is not red, it doesn’t hurt, there is no bruising. But I cannot bend it properly and walking down the stairs is very uncomfortable. I can just feel the muscles literally bulging under the skin on both sides of the patella. The only thing I can think of that could have possibly caused all this is quite a bit of squatting I had to do about a week ago. Any recommendations while I’m looking for a doctor? Thank you.

That feeling you feel bulging from either side of your patella is the swelling/fluid. In the meantime limit your squatting if possible, use ice 20 minutes at a time, take some anti inflammitory medication, elevate to control the swelling.
