Tail Bone Pain

(4 discussions)

Hello, I recently had a double back fusion on L5-S1. I now have the metal cage in place. For the past two days I have been having a lot of pain in my tail bone. The pain becomes unbearable after sitting and then trying to get up.
I also have a lot of pain when I cough, (have a bad cold now).
I had called my neuro Dr. and his office advised me to go to ER. But to me that is a trip that isn’t necessary.
I also have degentive disc disease and arthritis.
I am only 36 years old, and at this time I feel like I am 80.
I also attend physcial therapy, but have opted not to attend the last two days do to the pain. I would appreciate any advice you would have. Thank youWendy Day

Hi! I slipped in the shower in 1999. Since then I have suffered pain. I do not have the pain all the time. Whenever I do cleaning or a lot of walking… I seem to aggreviate the injury. I will have really really sharp pains. I will kinda of freeze in whatever position I am in. I will have pain while sitting, laying or walking. I had an x-ray and nothing showed up. I know something is wrong. The pain is almost like bone deep. When the doctor presses against my back…they can not touch the pain. The same with a heating pad… It does not reach the pain. I am seeing an orthopedic on Monday. Would an MRI show anything?
