tendonitis from soccer

Our regular Doctor diagnosed my son as having tendonitis in his foot. The back bottom part of his foot became swollen and very painful to walk during and after he returned from soccer camp. This just doesn’t seem like a tipicle place for tendonistis. Obviously the foot is put through great stress during training and games. I just wanted a second opinion. My mother’s intuition thinks it’s something other and/or that tendonitis is to nonspecific of a diagnosis. Your professional opinion would be greatly appreciated.

    It could possibly be tendonitis, and probably is, I have played soccer for 15 years, now playing at DI NCAA level, if it isn’t tendonitis, it just might be an overuse issue. If he wasn’t used to playing as much as he does at soccer camp that is simply the reason…
