Thrower's elbow???

I’m having some problems with a pain in my elbow recently. I’m not sure what could it be, it more-or-less fits the description of the ‘throwers elbow’ on the online clinic. The sport fits as well – american football (quarterback). Not sure what to do with it…

    Hi there,
I have suffered from that. I am presuming that you haven’t had it looked at by a profesional otherwise you would know for sure what it is.
Either way I would go get it checked out, but if it is throwers elbow, (your medial ligament) there are things that a physio can do to help.
I saw several different physio’s about mine, but only one actually managed to make a difference.
She did friction. This helps to soften and break up the scar tissue that forms when it’s been injured. Otherwise everytime you stress that area it will pull on the scar tissue that has formed in an inflexible lump and it is that that hurts!!!!!

The other thing I didn’t do is rest it! Well at least not for long enough. I kept resting it, then training again and was forever aggrivating it. I then managed to to totaly reinjure it, and had to have a further 4 months off. And due to it being reinjured it will probably now never be 100%. It’s now over a year and a half since I did it and still suffer from it probably because of niggling it constantly over that time. So make sure you look after it!

Apparently it is nothing like tennis elbow (on the outside) which is very dificult to clear up, I was told this injury is usually no problem!
But I am not an expert!!!!!
If you have any questions feel free to mail me.
    Hope this helps,
    Sarah.
