Tibial Plateau Fracture Surgery

Hi, I’m after some general information please.Re a lateral posterior tibial plateau fracture that needs surgery with a plate and screws. How soon after the initial fracture is the optimum time for operation? Can it be operated on too soon? What would the complications be if it was left for 8 days before operation?Many thanks indeed
