Tingling of part of heel & outside of foot below ankle

For the last 3 weeks or so I have had a constant “tingling” (similar to the foot “going to sleep”) of my right foot.
The specific areas seem to be at or near the skin surface below the ankle but above the sole. It extends from about the middle of the heel around to the base of the two small toes.
Internet info has all sorts of possibilites, from nerve damage to diabetes to posterior tibial artery or vein issues. But I’ve found nothing quite like what I’m experiencing. It seems to be localized and no repositioning seems to reduce the “tingling” such as that experienced when blood flow is restored to the affected area.Any ideas as to what might be the cause?

I have many ideas of what this could be, but without a complete history/physical it would be unethical to advise. I would encourage a visit to a Podiatrist for an evaluation.
