toe cramps
Dr., I get cramps in my toes, mid foot and center of foot at least three times a week.
This happens during exercise, stretching my foot and sometimes just driving in the car, lying in bed…to the point where I’m in extreme pain.
Could this be due to a lack of magnesium and would taking a supplement help?
I already take a multi-vitamin and calcium supplements.
Thank you

As you can probably guess, I can not say anything for certain without ewxamining you. Cramps can be due to several things, such as a calcium or magnesium deficiency,a vascular problem, a biomechanical problem, improper shoes, a nerve problem, a muscle problem, etc.If you want to try adding Magnesium, I usually recommend Citracal with Magnesium. If this doesn't help then I recopmmed you see a podiatrist
