Toe Pain, but doc says my nails are not ingrown?

Hello,
I posted here about 2 months ago about having surgery on an ingrown toenail.
When I visited with my podiatrist, he said that the nails were not ingrown, but that they were being subject to pressure based on the bone structure in my foot and were therefore irritating the skin around my nail bed.
He ‘cleaned up’ the caluses that had formed and for a while they felt better.
Now, however, they are starting to hurt again…Any idea at all on what this might be?
I’m looking for a permanent fix…
Thanks!

This might be a Morton’s neuroma. The shoes and duration wearing them might have brought this to a head, but it is not something that happens quickly. Wearing shoe that are roomier in the toe box may be helpful. You should see a podiatrist for further evaluation.
