Toenail removal re: fungus

(2 discussions)

I have pretty pervasive toenail fungus in both my big toenails. I’ve researched the prescription alternatives and have used Penlac, but I think I’d rather just have them permanently removed. I spend a lot of time in water, and I don’t want to deal with recurrence. My insurance company says that’s elective surgery & will only pay for the prescriptions. I don’t have the patience for the medication cycles & not thrilled with success rates. So, what would your office typically charge for permanent removal of both big toenails? I ready to have this finished, & I don’t care about the post-surgical cosmetics of my feet. Thanks in advance…Josh

In our office, we give a 50% discount for the second nail if done on the same day. Good luckMisti

Here in Mexico (Mexicali BC) we charge for removal of toenail 50.00 dollars each. BUT yiu must understand, toenail fungus is due to contamination from adjacent parts (Shoes, plantar zone or from shower) Almost all the patients that undergo surgery of the toenails suffer the same infection again… sometimes the new toenail grows infected! You will need to apply a very inexpensive and effective treatment : : I have pretty pervasive toenail fungus in both my big toenails.
