Torn Bicep Tendon

I am in the middle of deciding if I should get the surgery or not on my bicep tendon.
I tore it two weeks ago. What can I expect if I do not repair it and not get the surgery?

: Thank you,: JDThere are 2 heads to the biceps. Did you tear both heads? If not, other muscles will take over the torn part and all you end up with is a knot in your arm. If both heads are torn or if you have lots of pain/disability, get it fixed ASAP

Tendon torn from elbow – what is success rate and failure rate of flexibility from surgery. And what percent come out with dropped hand sydrom from nerve damage in surgery.

Should a partial tear of a distal biceps tendon be operated on if it is 12 weeks out from injury and causes no pain or limitation? Will the ramaining fibers streagthen or new ones grow in time?Will muscle atrophy or continue to retract? Thanks Paul

: Thank you,: JDHi” to the person who look forward another bicep rupture case,it happen feb.2014 and today Feb.10 2015 ;still like the first day of my accident i’d been looking for a good answer why they say ;can’t do it,cause am in the borderline,my age ,perhaps? why doctor request lawyer?the only thing it’s been done it’s only exerciseto gain more rotation,movement,the board put me to work( office work)ligth duties,am doing ok,with higher pain density on some movements but ,am having a life with pain ,my doctor just tylenol 2 prescribme I think could be something better than tylenol,in anothers words what it going to happen to me?????

I tore my bicep tendon almost 4 months ago… (April 10th, 2005). I knew I was injured at the time, but just now I am realizing that it is a torn bicep tendon… MY QUESTION IS: DO IS STILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE THE TENDON REPAIRED THRU SURGERY? OR IS THERE A TIME FRAME OR WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY (WHICH HAS PERHAPS ALREADY EXPIRED)IN WHICH I THE SURGERY NEEDS TO TAKE PLACE?

What does this mean? Chronic Biceps Tendon tear with at least 5-6 CM of proximal retraction.Distal Biceps muscle hematoma. The signal content within the bicept is abnormial.Is surgey the only I have. I golf, and play a little tennis play the guitar. If I have no surgery can I still play golf, tennis and play the Guitar. Thank YouJoel

I have a tron Bicep tendon but its torn at the top of the shoulder and I have a popeye bicep. Can this be repaired???

I just developed a similar injury. I have a partial tear to the bicep tendon that attaches the lower muscle to the radius bone. I am 52 years old and am now deciding whether or not to have surgery. Did you have the surgery? Any post surgical complications?

I heard a POP and now have a bulging bicep. What is the best course of action to fix this? The doc says to rest it for a month. Is this appropriate?
