torn biceps tendon

(2 discussions)

I completely tore my right biceps tendon about a month ago resulting in a drop in the biceps. Now I believe I have done something to my left one. No drop in muscle but it hurts just like the other one did. Since I’m 80 years old my doc said there was nothing he could do for the compeltely ruptured one. Is there anything I can do for the other one to keep it from getting worse and to lessen the pain?

Ruptured bicep tendons can be repaired if caught in time. Did he not repair your because of a time delay or because of underlying medical conditions or age? To keep the other one from getting worse I suggest you do no heavy lifting. Give it time and let it heal. Ice as needed for the pain. Don’t put ice directly on the skin and use for 15-20 minutes up to once every hour. Good luck. Mya

I ruptured my lower left bicep tendon two months ago. Is it too late to have it repaired? I have no pain or loss of movement, but dislike the way it looks.
