Torn Lateral Miniscus

(3 discussions)

The doctor discovered that I have a torn lateral miniscus I was wondering what should I do. He told me that I have to have surgery to fix. Is it needed or is there another way for full recovery.

hi,myself vinit, a post graduate student of chemical engineering, I got an accident by bike on 1 oct. 2012.accident . that time I felt a lot of pain but after some few hours I could walk.but next day I got a lot of swelling so I went to orthopodician he put a plaster of 5 week. then the ecercises started after the opening of plaster. but even after 2-3 months of ecercises I felt pain during walking & going up & down on stairs. so then doctor told to MRI. I went for it & the report showed so I went to doctor & finaly doctor told for orthoscopy to know what’s wrong there in knee exactly.but now I am afraid of any such type of thing & also as I am studying so it’s more difficult for me to have a gap for any such type of thing (which may also lead to surgery.)so now plz suggest me is the orthoscopy neccesary for me or something else can be done. Thanks for suggestion.with regardsvinit
