Torn PCL

My boyfriend races motorcycles and in a recent race he completely tore his PCL. What happened was he went down and was sliding on the ground with his feet held up in front of him, well his left foot dropped onto the ground and snapped back. He went to a specialist and this specialist (specialist) told him he didn’t need surgery, that the PCL wasn’t really something you need. His leg gets sore a lot and it looks different, the inner side of his knee bone protrudes more than it used to. This accident happened about 1 month ago. Should he go see a different specialist and have the surgery to repair his PCL??

Hi, I recently tore my PCL by landing on my left knee from a four foot drop off in the middle of a forest at night. my doctor told me that this is the type of injury that does not require surgery. I am a very active young adult, and my knee is constantly in some pain and stiffens up sometimes. Would you suggest that I get another opinion or get the surgery, or are there any exercises that I could perform to help my situation out? Thank you
