Weird foot pain

(2 discussions)

Hi everyone, I’m hoping somebody can help me. I have pain on the outside of my right foot. The bulk of the pain is on sort of in front of the ankle. It hurts most when I point my toes. There also seems to be a tender part along the outside of my foot. If anybody can possibly help me or advise me, I’d greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

    Tracy,

You could have some ATFL strain. If you sustained this while running, this could be the problem. The best is ice and rest with some ankle taping. NSAIDS are also useful. I have found this takes about 3 weeks to heal. If you have any other questions, visit our site at http://www.podassociates.net

Well you might have peronal tendonitis. If so raising your little toe toward your head should be painful. If thats right you can ice the areas that hurt on top of your foot, around the outside of your ankle and under the foot near the fifth toe. Stretch by passively having your foot planter flexed (toes pointed) and “inverted” sole turned toward the other leg.

You should definitely see a doctor to make sure this is indeed whats wrong; there are a number of causes of lower leg pain and while this seems a likely explanation, there are others which should be ruled out by an actual exam by a doc.

    Good luck,
