What do I need to do to be a physical trainer?

(2 discussions)

I’m interested in becoming a physical trainer and I was wondering about some things. What kind of classes do I need to take? What is the difference between a physical trainer, personal trainer(in a gym), and an athletic trainer? What is a general yearly earnings in this career and Is there a demand for trainers or are employers not looking right now? My name is Jacob and it would really help me if you could answer my questions when you get a chance. Thanks!

Personal Trainers usually work with people to help them with overall conditioning and/or weightlifting exercises. Depending upon their certification level, this may or may not require a formal educational program.Physical Therapists (PTs) and Certified Athletic Trainers (ATCs), on the other hand, are recognized Allied Health Professionals, and require college degrees. In fact, most PTs and ATCs now have at least Master’s Degrees. These programs require a science based background, and a rigorous selection process. You can find tons of information about the specifics of these programs by doing a simple search on the Internet. Good Luck.
