will my toenails grow back?

my big toe was injured during volleyball season and it turned black and then eventually came off about 3 months ago and is slowly growing back, but it’s growing so slowly, will it grow all the way back?
and also I have two other little toes that the nail came off.
The two nails that came off were white and easily peeled off.
Will they come back and grow?
I’ve cleaned them and wrapped them with neosporin.
Is this the right thing to do?

Under normal growth patterns, the toenails usually take around a year to grow from beginning to end. When injured and still partly attached, the new nail will grow forward and push off the old nail. The new nail has to scrape the now dried skin of the bed so it can reattach. It may be a bit faster, not it will still take many months. If it is sensitive, keeping it covered and protected is wise. If it is not, then you can probably leave it alone. The Neosporin is OK if you have an open wound. It is not of any benefit on otherwise non-infected skin.
