About 2 weeks ago, I fell on my wrist with most of my weight landing on my wrist, After xrays the Dr. said there was no brek an he ruled out ligament damage but I question his results. I am presently trying accupuncture. . The pain is only on the outer wrist by the pinkie an it shoots up my forearm. When I bend my wrist back like leaning on my hand then I fell the pain shooting up my outer wrist

You may have a fracture of a small bone in your wrist called the scaphoid. When fractured it sometimes takes several weeks up to 2 months to show up in an x-ray. If the x-ray is still negative then the next step is to take a cat scan. If I were you I would go see a hand specialist ASAP, because you may need to use a hand splint to prevent permanent damage.

I fell in November and landed all my weight on left hand. Because of pain and swelling I went and had x-ray next day, but didn’t show fracture. Pain continued and in January went back, had prednisone, cortisone injection and no better. Finally had MRI which showed scaphoid fracture. Placed in cast end of Feb. and after 10 weeks, cast removed, but still showed nonunion. Went to hand spes***t, he did x-ray, showed nonunion and ordered CT scan which showed no evidence of a fracture. I am confused. My wrist still hurts and I have no strength or grip. What should I do if hand specialist agrees with CT scan. If plain film shows fracture, how can CT not show it? Please advise.
