zapping pain on top of foot, numb big toe
About a month ago, I noticed that when I slightly pressed down on a certain area on the top of my foot it sent a shooting, zapping, burning pain straight down toward my big toe.
That has since subsided, but now the top of my big toe is numb. Movable, but numb for at least 2 wks now.
I have high arches (both feet) and am 40 pounds overweight from a recent pregnancy.Any ideas? How urgent is it that I see a doctor?

Without examining you I can not say for sure. A possibility is that you have an injury to a superficial sensory nerve. Certainly, you should have this checked out though.
