How to recover from calf injury?

About 3 weeks ago, I reached for a ground ball and while stepping hard to my left, thought someone shot me in the calf (i actually turned around to look for a sniper!). Leg collapsed under me and I had to be carried off. After one week with a plaster splint and crutches, I could walk again with a fairly normal gait and all looked well. Orthopaedic surgeon checked it out and found I could flex in either direction pretty well. One week later, I decide to play again – one step jogging towards first base, I feel the tightness and throbbing pain like the onslaught of a swelling balloon. Three days later and now the calf is the size of a grapefruit and a discoloration and bruise has appeared. ANY IDEAS??

torn bicep

I was playing hand ball and hit the ball with my left hand when I had a snapping in my bicep followed by pain in my bicep, elbow and forearm.
I quit immediately and iced and haven’t played now for three weeks.
I have a huge bruse from my bicep thru the elbow area and the fore arm is now brused and yellow.
It doesn’t seem to hurt unless I try to lift with my left arm and the pain seems to resurface. What are you thoughts?
I played golf this week end and it didn’t seem to hurt then.
Thanks for you help and I look forward to your response.
What is the expected time frame for recovery? Rugga Mather

I think I have what is called a “burser” on my elbow, a sort of sack with fluid.
I had one of these many years ago and I think it was treated with a muscle relaxer rx….will it go away and what should I do about it?

Cracked Heel

I have been walking around for most of the summer in bare feet.
I now have a crack on my heel that goes quite deep and is very sore.
Should I just wait until my feet become less like leather?
Will it disappear on its own?

Heel Problem

(2 discussions)

Hi,
In the summer I noticed that the heel of my feet had strange indented circles on them that hurt after I had been standing for a while. This has got much more painful lately (probably as it is winter and I am wearing shoes all the time now). I have attached an image link of the infected site. Can you please tell me what it is and what I can use to treat it. Many thanks, Paul.

itchy heels

Every night when I go to bed, both of my heels start to itch.
This itching is waking me up at night as well.
There is no redness, swelling, or anything else out of the ordinary.
During the day, my heels are fine.
I don’t wear socks to bed, but if I do, it is worse.
I have changed my sheets and it still happens.
What could this be??
