spongy feeling on bottom of feet
(3 discussions)
for the last three years or so, my mother has been complaining of a spongy feeling on the bottom of both feet.
She says its getting worse.
She saw a Dr. about two years ago (not a podiatrist) and he couldn’t find anything wrong.
It’s not diabetes. shes been tested for that.
She has trouble walking a straight line in a small area for example when she’s bowling.
She said she had so much trouble this year that she may not go back to bowling next year.
She’s 72.
Can you help?

While I can't be sure, she may have neuropathy and diabetes can be one cause. Another cause includes hypothyroidism. She should see a neurologist and get further examined. Good luck.

I do not have hypothyroidism, I’m not a diabetic and my spine is fine. Yet, I’ve had spongy foot since my the total knee replacement four years ago. Can it be repaired?
