pain in toes

I have had surgey for a plantar fibroma in Jan 2010. The scar tissue is bad and painful. But a new symptom has arised in the last few months. I do alot of walking at my job, over 5 miles a day usually. The pad right below my toes hurt and the second toe, the toe by the big toe, hurts real bad.
It hurts to bend it, the whole toe and the part right below it. Any ideas? I am also a insulin dependant diabetic for many yrs, almost 30. Thanks in advance!
