How to treat a lost toenail?
(3 discussions)
I recently ran a marathon and finished with a blister on my little toe at the nail area. A couple of days later I was swimming and the toenail was just hanging . I pulled it off and put a bandaid on the area. It is not bleeding at all but the area is raw where the blister was and the toenail was. Is there something I should be doing to treat this? I want to make sure the nail grows back in correctly.
Thanks for your help!!!

You should keep it covered and protected with a topical antibiotic such as Neosporin ( as long as you are not allergic) and a bandaid. A new nail will start growing soon but it will take months to grow out. This is usually all that is necessary

I recently had an ingrown toenail. In my attempt to get the toenail out, the toenail fell off. I have no health inssurance. I have been using Hydrogen of Peroxide and Prid, covered with a band aid. I don’t know what to do. I have never been in this situation before. TRULY YOURS
