Impact to back of heel

I had a nasty impact to the lower back of my heel. I am sure it was below the archilles tendon. Since then there was swelling and even soft brushing over the skin produces electrical type pulses across my foot.
I have not been able to find anything on the web to explain what is happening or similar things. Anyone have any information for me?

  1. I had a impact to the lower back of my left heel. Since then there has been some swelling on the back of my foot. Now a week after I played football and am suffering from pain to the rear of my foot on both feet. Am I doing something wrong or do I need to give them some time to heal, if so how long?

  2. If you see a podiatrist or orthopedist, an X-ray might be helpful for a start. An MRI or Diagnostic ultrasound might be indicated for soft tissue injuries.
