partially ruptured anterior tibial tendon
(2 discussions)
About 6 weeks ago, I had an MRI due to pain in top of left foot.
I had been hiking on hills in addition to usual routine of jogging and some biking.
The MRI indicated partial rupture of the anterior tibial tendon.
I have been doing physical therapy, have gotten orthotics and have limited exercise to light biking, swimming and some walking.
My foot does not seem much better however.
When can I expect to heal and be able to run again and is there something else I could be doing to speed up the process?

Were you ever immobilized in a cast boot?

No. I was told that I needed to keep moving my foot to allow blood flow to the injured tendon. I’m trying to stay in fairly flat shoes whenever possible though.
