Shooting pain in my heel

I play indoor soccer once a week and this past week after I played (when I got home) I had a shooting pain in my ankle.
It’s been almost 24 hours since the game now, but it still hurts. I didn’t get kicked in the game, but it really hurts when I walk on it. It feels like a needle being shoved into my heel on every step.
It does fell less hurtful as I try to walk on it more (or maybe I get used to the pain more). What could it be?

Hmmmm, could be a heel spur or plantar fascitis…sounds more like plantar fascitis. Do you have a good pair of shoes you run in? Get a pair of gel filled heel pads for you shoes for now and if you tennis shoes are worn out get a better pair with good support. Icing may help too. If you continue to have pain, go see a doctor.
