Somebody help please. I’m a dancer, and nobody can tell me what’s wrong with my foot
over the past couple of months, i’ve been having pains in my left ankle. suddenly last week, a pain in my ankle shot up from my ankle while I was walking and gave out on me. at first I tried RICE and all that stuff, but it didn’t ease the pain, so I went to the hospital. since then i’ve seen many doctors and specialists but none can tell me what is wrong with my ankle. the pain is untolerable. sometimes it spreads up my entire left leg. I cannot walk on it and there is no rotation. However there is no swelling either. the only incident I can think of that could have caused this is when I twisted the ankle during a dance practise, but that was four months ago! If somebody can help, I would really apreciate it. I’m a dancer and I need to know what is wrong. thank you.

You did not mention if you have had an MRI of your ankle. That probably would be the most helpful non-invasive test. There is a possibility that whatever is wrong is within the ankle joint itself (intra-articular). Arthroscopy may be indicated.
