Torn ACL

I have had a MRI and was told that I have a torn ACL as well as some torn cartilage.
The waiting list for surgery is about 2 years.
I am wondering if there are any exercises I can do to help strengthen the knee for now and to help in the recovery after eventual surgery. Thanks

    Um..Excuse me but I just had an ACL repair and I thought I could answer some of your questions..Well I tore my ACL sometime in January playing basketball and had surgery in feburary and there is “NO” exercises that you need to do because if you do you could end up hurting it worse or tearing something else.. I felt the same way.. But you really need to get it fixed how did u do it?

    here isnt really anything u can do because the cut the tendon and mend it to ur acl and for like 3 weeks u have to not walk on it so it looses strength then too so if u just keep the knee straight and try to like push down on the ground with the back of ur knee to build up ur quads
