Will SYNVISC injections help a torn miniscus? Can I get more info about a miniscus transplant please?
I am 38 years old and have had 4 surgeries on the right knee. I am a police officer and continue to be active in sports (softball), but it is becoming more difficult. The surgeries I had have are an osteodemy (sorry for the spelling), torn ACL, and meniscus. I only have less then half of my meniscus and have begun to get discomfort again. I am sure it needs to be scoped again and to get away fromany impact activities. I know that this knee needs to last a few more years even if I have to have a replacement. I may be to young for it now. What do you recommend? I live in Sacramento, Ca and would like to know the name of a good doctor. Thanks

I was wondering if you could send me some general information about Miniscus Transplant. I have had to Scopes on my right knee, the second almost 2 1/2 to 3 years ago. I am very active, going to the gym, hour of cardio every day. The problem I am having is running on the tread mill tightens up the knee. It seems the worst part is behind my knee with what feels like a big not. After a couple of days of changing my workout I don’t seem to have the problem, but I do know there is something wrong. I don’t believe there is anything else wrong in my knee. The first Surgey I had the doctor tried to repair the miniscus, needless to say 6 months later I had the second surgery to clean out the repaired area because it had torn again. If I remember correctly he took out alost 50% of the Miniscus. What suggestions might you have, and would I be a canadate for Miniscus Transplant? If so what is the long term prognosis for the transplant?THank you for your time

Would a miniscus transplant be an option for an 83 year old woman instead of a total knee replacement? There is very little arthtitis in the knees.

in january I had part of meniscus removed…my knee seemed to heal great…at about 12 weeks out from surgery I started having problems…popping and pain…now I’m back to elevating it and taking lots of tylenol. My doc is going to give me synvisc injections…if this doesnt work he said he might have to do surgery again….any pointers or suggestions on waht this could be or what I can do
