Torn muscle, possible ' exotosis '

Hi. Way back in October I manged to tear my groin muscle very badly while playing football (soccer). After three months of resting, the swelling and pain gradually eased. However I am now left with a small lump at the very top of my inner groin. I am back running on a treadmill, straight line running only. I am unable to to start football training as when any resistance is applied to my leg, or any twist and turn, I have a very sharp pain in the groin. I have had an xray afetr my consultant thought it maybe the condition ‘ exotosis ‘, basically extra bone growing. My groin, both sides, feel very weak, and due to the fact I have had slight aches and clicking sounds around my pelvis area for a couple of years, I am begining to get frustrated, although this is the first injury that has ever stopped me playing for this amount of time. Saying that, I know my body is along way from returning to how it was, I’d be grateful for any feedback.
