Can you explain to me what a bone island is?
I have had lower back pain since a fall about 8 weeks ago. Doctor had a scan performed and and the following diagonsis was stated “mild degenerative changes of the thoracic lumbar spine ith small bone islands within the L3 and T10 vertebral bodies”

  1. My name is Dr. Gambale, i’ve been a chiropractor for over 22 years and this is my opinion about your situation A bone island is an increased density in an area of the bone. It can be harmless but it’s a good idea to check that area if painful. Degenerative disc disease at L3-T11 indicates abnormal stress in that area of thte spine.
