numb and tingling feet

(3 discussions)

I’ve been experiencing some pain in my feet for a couple of months.
I have heel pain that hurts when I walk, but what worries me most is that my left foot is numb and tingles on the lateral aspect of the sole.
When I touch or scratch the area it sends a tingling sensation up into my 4th and 5th toes.
Occassionally I experience a numb and tingling feeling in my big toe.
I don’t recall any injury.
I also have no to little arch.
I buy a good quality running shoes (Aasics GT-2100).Any advice you can provide is appreciated.Karen

Without examining you, I can’t say anything for certain. One suggestion is Tarsal Tunnel syndrome. You would need to see a podiatrist and possibly a neurologist.

My husband is experiencing a tingling in just his left big toe. He has had no injury to his toe. He works as a truck driver and must wear heavy steel toe boots everyday. He is 5″7 and 245lbs. I must admit that we both have a poor diet and he never exercises. Could the tingling be linked with a success medical problem?

My daughter is 5 years old and just told me that her feet sometimes feel “like sprinkles”. She does have flat feet and walks around the house barefooted. It originally sounded to me like her feet are falling asleep often, but I’m not sure. What do you think? Should I take her to the doctor?
