Pedicures

Hello!
I am hoping that someone may help answer my question or help with a solution.
I am a esthetician that is a a perfectionist with pedicures and I am a sanitation nut!
I want to be the very best that I can be for my clients.
My concern is that the area that I use for pedicures is carpeted in berber (I am not able to change it) and my question is: can warts be transferred through carpeting? I also have clients that come in for waxing and of course I do not look at their feet. If this is possible, is there any suggestions on anything I may be able to do to prevent this?
I want my clients to be protected.
Thanks so much!!

It is impossible to have a sterile environment in your situation. Warts and bacteria and fungi can be on the carpet. But if you think about it, they are also on the knobs and handles of doors as well as many other places. A minimal but effective thing to do is get inexpensive disposable paper slippers for clients to use when they take their shoes off.
