I have never had to repair a torn plantar fascia. Usually, we immobilize it and it heals in time. The surgery to release a plantar dfascia can be performed in various ways.
I have seen a podiatrist for plantar fascia. I have seen him for approx 6months. Tried exercises, inserts, cortisone(2 shots). Then went to an orthopedic sports doctor who specializes in foot and ankle. He has suggested surgery. I have heard this might not be the best. I am so scared and confused. Help I love to walk (pain free) don’t know what to do. If I get surgery, who should do it? The podiatrist or the ortho doc.
