I have had an MRI done on my left knee and it showed a few tears in the miniscus. Is surgery the only option? Can someone get along fine without surgery? If no surgery is performed, will the person ever get back the full range of motion in the knee?

I have been told by my doctor that I have a minisucs .the cartillage between my bones slides out. is surgery the only option. thank you
