Sprained Ankle now clicks
Hi Dr.
I have chronically sprained my ankle playing football and soccer over the years, about once a year or maybe a little less frequently.
The last sprain occured 2 nights ago.
When I sprained it it sounded horrible.
In that split second while falling, I was certain that I had done more damage than in the past.
However, after a few minutes, I was able to limp away.
I recall shaking the ankle as to get the blood flowing, and it sounding like a bag of loose bones. (It was odd).
In any case, I put it in Ice water that same night, and yesterday, and have been wearing an ACE elastic brace since. Surprisingly, I did not swell too much, and doesn’t hurt too much either.
The difference this time, is that now, when I walk, I hear a click coming from my ankle. (It seems to be coming from the other part of the ankle.)Why is my ankle clicking?
Is it something I should have a local doctor look at?
Thanks,Jorge Gonzalez

Hi again, I should add that the clicking doesn’t happen on every step. It clicks about once every 2-5 steps. (varies)Thanks again,Jorge Gonzalez : Why is my ankle clicking?: Is it something I should have a local doctor look at?: Thanks,: Jorge Gonzalez
