I have a broken little toe.
I banged my little toe really hard against a cupboard the other 2 days ago and now the toe has purple bruising, is swollen and sore which makes it hard to walk on. Do you think I have broken the toe, or is it just bruising? And what can I do to make it better?

The way doctors can tell if something is broken is with an X ray. From your description though, I'd have to guess it is broken. If you can't see a podiatrist, then splint the 2nd, 3rd and 4th toes with 1/2" tape. put a small piece of foam between the toes to cushion them. Wear a sandal or whatever is most comfortable and plan on at least 6 weeks before you can really tolerate shoes well. If you aren't seeing improvement, soon, then go see a podiatrist.
