Three days ago I fell off a horse and fractured two ribs. I’m in terrible pain. I’m currently taking oxycodone which is a generic for Percoset and it doesn’t seem tohelp much. I need to get back to work within the next four days. Is there anything else I can do to minimize the pain. Thanking you in advance. Have a great day.
Thanks, six weeks ago I fell walking backwards and tripped on a wooden pallett. I went flying and landed on the base of a metal pallett jack. I was brought in by ambulance xrayed, examined, and given a ctscan. I was diognosed with fractured ribs, I’ve been home for six weeks and I’m much better. but I’m still very sore is this normal? I’m heading back to work this monday because waiting for workmans comp. Is a real joke. I’m so sore not only in the back where I fell, but all through my chest and back. My job consists of lifting 50, and 100 lbs. barrells. I’m just a little nervous I might aggrevate my ribbs to much, I want to work but I’m still so sore. what do you think?

I fractured my ribs 4 days ago. I didn’t go to the doctor because there is not a lot they can do about it. What I read on the internet says rest is the best thing. Bill, I think you will know when you pick up that first barrel if you are ready to go back to work. If you smoke, it takes longer to heal, too. So I say, go by the way it feels and if it hurts, don’t do it. I think you should wait until your body is ready to do that kind of work. Six weeks is normal healing time for people with less laborous jobs than yours.

how do fractured ribs happen,if you were not hit or fell? I am 48 years old-5’6″- and weigh 205 lbs-i thought I had pulled a muscle in my back, I went for xrays and they came back showing the 9th and 10th rib fractured?
I fractured ribs 5-9 on the left in a car accident doctors said it takes 15 weeks for them to heal but I think they are crazy it has been almost 7 months and mine are still not healed
Relief, treatment for fractured ribs. Thanks this happen aug 31, all systoms there. How long will it take to recover first week I was in bed. 2nd week boyfriend had to go back to work with is this week.cc scan done only order for abdominal. Saw regular doc and said they are maybe hair line fractures, on RT side ,have to girl the 3yrs old does need to be picked up but my 11month old does from time to time.

I fell about two weeks ago down about fifteen stairs and my back hit a cement wall very hard. I found out later I had three fractured ribs, but they said there is nothing I can do about them. I am a secretary, but must reach high and low for my files at work, so I have been out of work for two weeks – I cannot stay home the six to eight weeks they said will take to heal these. I am taking pain medication which has been a great help, and stayed laying around a lot during the day – not really doing much. Is there anything else I can do beside being careful when I go back to work, and continuing to take my medication. I hit the right side of my back on the cement wall which is still very sore if I move the wrong way and also the middle of my chest in the front. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I have had bronchitis for over a month and was treated by 3 doctors who just switched antibiotics and cough medicines. Sometimes my cough got so bad I couldn’t breathe. Yesterday, my right back rib started hurting worse than childbirth. I was told there was nothing I could do for it and there was no sense in taking in Tylenol, Advil or Aleve. Today I coughed and it felt like I had been stabbed. Twice after that time, I had spit up a small amount of blood and mucous. Does anyone have any suggestions to ease this discomfort?
i fractured a rib in football about 5 weeks ago… It was the second rib injury I suffered….about 9 weeks prior to this injury(about14 weeks) I suffered bruised ribs and lung in a football game….that injury brought me to the hospital in a ambulance and I couldnt do much for about 3 weeks….after 6 weeks I came back and played football again and I was fine until about my thrid game back when I made a block and felt a sharp pain and shortness of breath…nothing like my prior injury so I kept playing that game….a few days after I went to the doctor and I got x-rays and they confirmed I had fractured a rib…same side as prior injury….about 5-6 weeks have passed… I don’thave any pain….is it necessary for me to go to the doctor…or wait longer….not really sure where to go from here… I’m am so out of shape I want to get back into the gym and strengthen up…..

hi, I was jumping on a trampalin 3 weeks ago when I the bed hit the floor leaving me to have wacked my whole back,the next day I woke up I could hardly walk, now 3 weeks on all my left side hurts, I thought it would go away on its own, but it dos,nt look like it so today I phoned for an appiontment with my doctor,i live in spain and have to wait a week for my appiontment, I will keep you,s posted and let you know how I get on!
