BROKEN FOOT???

Hello,
I was playing volleyball at my gym last night and as I went up to block a spike, I accidentally landed on the opposite players foot and hit the outside of my right foot on the ground pretty hard.
I felt alot of pain but was able to still walk in some pain.
I obtained ice and iced it for the next few hours.
This morning I woke up to some swelling and I can walk on it still, however right as my right foot is leaving the ground when I walk I still feel some pain.
Its not bruised, only swollen on the outside of my foot.
I am just wondering what may be my prognosis.
I dunno if I should go back to playing volleyball, soccer and other sports.
PLEASE HELP!!!!
I am a student and don’t have insurance and will only go to a doctor if its absoultely necessary.
Thanks.

Without an examination, it is impossible to tell you if you have a broken bone. Having said that, you certainly have an injury, whether it is bone or soft tissue, you still need to allow it to heal. My suggestion is that you get this examined by a podiatrist and do not resume your athletic activities until you have recovered.
