Broken pinky toe

(2 discussions)

My baby toe is broken.
According to the x-rays, it was broken on the diagonal.
I’ve been out of work for 3 1/2 weeks now and it STILL hurts when I walk.
My Dr. said it could take up to 5-6 weeks to heal.
I’m a flight attendant, so I work on my feet in a pressurized cabin for hours on end.
I’m nervous about going back to work too soon.
I don’t want to break it again.
How do you know when it’s completely healed?
Also, is it safe to ride a stationary bike?
I can push with my heel without pain.
I don’t want to make it worse.

torn planter fascia

(2 discussions)

I have what appears to be diagnosed as planter fasciitis by a doctor who can’t remember the last time he diagnosed anyone with it. I did some searching on the internet and the only thing that I can seem to find on this topic is a chronic problem for runners. I have never had any problem before. I cannot put any pressure on it so it does not sound like a the chronic problem that all of these articles on the internet are about. I live in Colorado and it sounds like I need to go to a doctor who is more familiar with this condition. Any suggestions??

arch pain and numbing on 1 or more toes wearing high heels

my main problem is that when I wake up in the morning, sometimes getting out of bed and walking across the room hurts terribly in my arches.
i don’t understand why, sinse I relaxed them all night while I slept.
also, sometimes the pain doesn’t go away, and then I hurt all day long.
a good massage is the only thing, along with medication, to stop the pain.
i switched shoes allready.
my feet do feel better.
but today, they hurt so bad, I could cry.
and yesterday I only wore shoes for 10 min.
please help me…. also, I don’t normally get numbing in my toes, but for some reason, when i’m taking a shower, my toe next to the biggest toe, will becomenumb.
also, i’ll be at church and have on heels.
by toe next to my big toe will become numb.
these are the only times my toes are numb.
i thought that I frost bit my toes when I was younger.
could that have anything to do with it.?

Jone’s fracture question

i broke my foot on 5/6, and am currently in a walking boot. unfortunately, it makes my broken leg quite a bit higher than my other leg, so I walk unevenly. my friend purchased some “disposable inserts” from her podiatrist for a similar problem, but my orthopedic doctor has no idea where I can find them. i’ve called many medical supply companies in my area, but no luck. do you have any suggestions on where I can locate these inserts? I have back problems, and the “lopsided” way I have to walk with the boot is really aggravating my back issues. thanks very much!

unbearable itchiess on toes

I am 62. Fairly healthy.
My toes itch, intermittently, and usualy in winter.
This winter has been bad.
By intermittent, I mean when they act up they may stay that way for a week or two, then go away for a few weeks.
It isn’t all the time. The last digits,(top) of the toes and the front itch, not much on the backside of the toes and occasionally spots on the instep may get itchy but not as bad. The little toes are itchy on the side or outer edge which would touhc the shoes.
I don’t wear shoes in the house.
And I am at home most of the time I have tried wearing no socks and I think that helps some, socks keep my feet warmer and I may be imagining it, but I think ti makes them itch. The itch is unbearable. The itch is so unbearable, I want to rip my toes off and if I could I would!
It wont stop and I have to create hurt, pain and resultant woreness before the itching will stop and this takes a lot of scratching, believe me.
They are red looking but no sores or blisters or bleeding.
It is usually only one foot but in the last few days the other foot has started on two toes.
It usually happens in the evening nearing bedtime As I am touching my foot right now, there is absolutely no itch, only very sore from all the scratching I did last night, but the top of my instep above my fourth toe(next to little one) is black and blue from scratching so much. Please tell me what this is and what I can do for it.Joyce In Upstate NY
