(4 discussions)

I have pain in the middle of my chest.
Military presses bother me more than chest exercises.
It hurts to stretch with my arms over my head.

Further to my previous message. This problem has been lingering to some extent since this past summer. What is the best course of action?

I have been experiencing a constant pain in te serratus anterior muscles for quite sometime, for last to months along with that I am also experiencing chest pain, but the chest pain is not constant and it moves from left side to right side sometimes also around neck area. I am also getting at times breahing problem because of this. I also cannot do side raises as the serratus anterior muscle pain a lot during this movement.Would u have any clue why is this pain happening.

Maybe you have a rib dysfunction. During violent trauma, it is possible to subluxate the rib(s). You could get an anterior subluxation (there is a prominence of the affected rib in the anterior chest, and a depression in the posterior chest), a posterior subluxation, external torsion, internal torsion, lateral compression, anterior-posterior compression (depressed in the anterior and posterior chest, and slightly protruding laterally). It is also possible that the thoracic vertebrae to which the ribs attach to is rotated (that might explain why the pain travels to the other side of the chest, because it also rotates the contralateral ribs). You should consult a D.O. (doctor of osteopathy) to properly diagnose which rib dysfunction you have. If it truly is a rib subluxation, osteopathic manipulative treatment (aka bonesetting) should provide instant relief in 1-2 sessions.
