Pain just below and on left rib cage

Woke up Sunday morning with a sore lower rib cage. I have been applying heat while at work on and off. Can’t really tell if it is a pulled muscle or a rib fracture. I tried running on Monday.. and ran about 4 miles with pain. Holding the area eased the pain a little. It kind of feels “tight” rather than painful right now…. which is leading me to believe pulled muscle. I am in need to get in a run tonight; is it bad to run with a pulled muscle?
