Patella tendon surgery

Hi,
I’m a 30 year-old that had surgery 4 – days ago to repair my patella tendon that detached while playing basketball. Has anyone been through this and what did the recovery/ PT look like? I’m also a competitive cyclist and wondering how this will affect training/mobility? I am in a full cast and am finding that moving on crutches thus far is quite painful/difficult. Is this normal at this point? Any help would be greatly app. Thanks!
