Tailor’s Bunion

I’m a diabetic (15 yrs) and have had a painful swelling on my foot for the last 6 yrs. It is situated just on the outside of my foot below the little toe. I visit my chiropodist every 3 weeks to have the hard build up of skin removed. Recentely it got infected which meant having to visit the hospital for treatment on a weekly basis and a course of antibiotics. Is there an operation available as I can’t go on like this for much longer. I’ve had numerous insoles all to no avail and have had X-rays taken which didn’t show anything abnormal. HELP PLEASE!!

Certainly surgery might be an option, but making sure you would heal afterward is what matters most. Your doctor would need to check your diabetes control as well as circulation. I am not sure how you would proceed in the UK. In the US, I would advise you to see a podiatrist.
