Wrist and elbow pain

(2 discussions)

I could use some suggestions for my daughter. My daughter is a cheerleader and when she is working on her tumbling skills (especially her back handspring) her elbow and wrist begin to bother her. Last week in her private tumbling class she had to stop early because her wrist hurt so bad she was in tears. Within about 3 hours the pain had stopped and she seemed fine. I have taken her to several doctors and they tell me they can’t find anything wrong with her. I am afraid she is really going to hurt herself if I don’t find out what is going on. Does anyone have any suggestions? Please help…

Have her tumbling trainer really watch to see if she is distributing her weight evenly between hands. She may be putting more weight on the right, even if it’s just a little bit, the repetition can add up!

A doctor or a physical trainer… Could be she’s strained her wrist flexors, they originate from the elbow! Is the pain inside her wrist, or on the anterior (palm facing up) or posterior forearm?..
