bone cracking

(3 discussions)

I have been cracking my spine, knuckles, and wrist for a long time.
My neckand spine are starting to ache.
Is there a solution to this? Does this lead to arthritis or any other problem?

I am 17 years old and I’m wondering if you could help me.My shoulder especially but my bones in general are always cracking very loudly and I’m worried that it may lead to something more serious when I get older. It was never painful but lately my shoulders are beginning to ache very slightly from all the cracking. I was told that it can lead to very bad artheritis when I get older if I don’t watch it carefully. Is this true? I am very worried about it.

Yea, I’m 17 also and I have the same typw of thing. My elbows and sometimes ankles mostly are the problem. I know some stuff though. I used to crack my neck and back and what not, don’t do it. I have sculiosis(spelling may be wronge) and its not bad or anything but I’ve been to a few docters and stuff and learned a few things. When you crack your neck a chemical is released that makes the pain or stress or whatever fell better but in actuallity u are stressing the ligaments- kinda like rubber bands in your neck. This increases the movement or streches it out. Thus the bones don’t stay together as well and can cause way more problems. So avoid cracking neck on purpose. Strechings fine but not over doing it. Far as the other cracking I asked about the ankle and I was told something about a gas being released. DOnt know. Calcium may help.

I am almost 50 years old. I was 12 years old seeing a chyroprator that told me never crack the bones. THERE IS NO CURE! I live on vitamins. etc. tried everything. They are wrong, because cracking the bones are natural that release calcium deposits (brotherinlaw studied chriropractic) the best thing is to rest eat right, Omega (fish oils) and let your body do the rest. Arizona, dry places the pain went away, but family is here.. I Do not understand why you popped up on my computer, but you suffer the same as me. You are young.. When I became forty, I started passing out from the pain on cold snowy nights at 4am in the morning.. Please see your doctor. you are not 18, a back straightener may help your curviture of the spine. I was 21 and grew from 5’2″ until I was 26 years old grew another 1/2 in.. Do the back brace may not be too late…
