broken foot not healing

Help – fell and broke fifth metarsal – left foot on Sept 14-2013. Spent 8 weeks in a walking cast – Still have continued pain in outside of left foot and foot pops and is very painful on bottom btween toes three and four.
Can’t hardly walk- Dr. just shrugs and says maybe it’ll get better.
This can’t be right
