Orthotics related to knee pain

I am currently injured with a Strained medial collateral Left ligament at the tibial insertion site. I am icing and using Indocin Q 8hrs for relief.
When I run I feel a tugging sensation at the injury area. I am only running 2-3 days a week, for 1-2miles.
I have semi ridgid orthotics in each shoe. My question is, will an orthotic with more ridgid materials or a full length orthotic provide less pronation and more control to that leg and knee?

Thank you for any helpful advice.

In order to give you an answer, you need to evaluated on the way you walk and run as well as your foot mechanics. There are numerous combinations of materials used for orthotics and what is proper for one person may not be for another. Make sure when you see a podiatrist that he/she treats runners.
