crepitus in 1st Metatarsal

I have had a popping in the ball of my foot for over a year.
The popping has gotten progressively worse, occuring when I am weight bearing about every other step.
By days end, the joint is very tender as is the bunion on the side of my big toe.
Is the popping related to the bunion and if so, what are some courses of treatment?
I should also had that I had bilateral bone spurs removed from the top of my 1st Mets. and have very high arches.
Thanks

fractured fibula

(4 discussions)

I broke my leg, right fibula spiral fracture on Oct. 4, 2012. I was seeing an orthopedic surgen (paying cash) who told me I needed “pins and a plate” to fix it correctly. He was honest and told me it was very expensive, I went and got Medecal. The only doctor I could see was also an “ortho”. He did an x-ray where I could still see the bone protruding, displaced, and shadowed where it should have been solid. (Nov. 18) He then gave me a back to work order, told me I would be fine by Dec. 1. I waited until May to find a job that does not require alot of walking (I was a waitress before)Now I work at a desk making 1/5 of the money I am used to. BUT the point is that I’m in PAIN…. If I walk more than a block or so in a day, I feel as though my leg is rebroken all over again. I need help finding an ortho in my area who takes my new insurance (iehp) My PCP saw my latest x-rays and said “you definently need to see an orthopedic surgen, Ill call you with a referral.
He never did!Now im looking for a new pcp …..yadayadayada… Suggestions or help would be great! thank you, Lorie Jean

Lifted Toenail and Nailbed

(3 discussions)

I stubbed my toe pretty well in April, finally in August the toenail lifted off of the nailbed.
The underlying toenail was looking pretty good, but I have noticed that it seems to push in to the tissue that was under the original toenail.
I am afraid it will turn into an ingrown nail.
Should I clip the skin at the end of my toe to help this new nail grow over it?
Respectfully, Dee

Big Toe Tendon Severed

I severed the tendon in the big toe of my right foot.
The ER doctor told me he sutured the tendon, but it has been a week and the toe hangs limply just as it did before the suture.
Is this normal?
Will it eventually pull itself back up?

Bruise causing Leg Numbness

(3 discussions)

Hello, I recently bumped my shin pretty hard, it has caused a monstrous bruise. I bruise easily, so it didn’t cause any concern to me. But, for the last week, from the bruise down the circulation in my leg is cutting off and causing numbness, similar to when your foot falls asleep. Should I be worried or go have it checked? Thanks

broken toe question

I am 99% positive that I broke my toe 1yr ago. I couldn’t walk on it. Entire big toe was purple, swollen, bulge on back. Heavy kitchen bar stool fell on it. I never saw a doctor(wimp issue). Now I have severe pain in it on a reg.bases plus some tingling. It is difficult to move the toe on its one and I can feel cracking. Should I know go see a foot doctor now or is the damage permanently done, also will it get any worse?

siatic nerve? hip injury

(7 discussions)

I flew off of a 4 wheeler – xrays determined I did not have any broken bones however my hip is very swollen – where ever there is swelling, I don’t have any feeling.
I also can’t put full weight on one leg.
Should I be concerned or is this just going to take some time to wait for the swelling to go down? ThanksJustine
